You are likely
being ripped off and overcharged for services that every person should be
screaming about. Yet, we have become as placid as cows and sheep going to
slaughter. If
you are like most Americans, the logical part of your brain in the financial
section of your neural networks is DORMANT
and ASLEEP. Here's
why.......... The
biggest news these days in banking is McBanking
Banks are
modeling themselves basically after the McDonalds Chains of fastfood
restaurants, by offering branch banking on every corner. This is an attractive
way to get customers- simply by being in customer's faces at every turn, the
bank gives the illusion of good and fair service. We are everywhere, so we must
be good. Hooked. Once
inside the bank, they sell their services with MODERN CONVENIENCES like ONLINE
BANKING and BILLPAY
and VISA Check
Cards and ATM
Cards just like the junk food you see on a fastfood restaurant menu. Here
is where the big corporate lie begins. The
LIE is that NONE OF THESE SERVICES take the place of keeping track of your
expenses and deposits in either a plain written register or in decent
computer software. But
you wouldn't know it from the 8 FOOT HIGH billboard inside the bank telling you
that "ONLINE
BANKING IS LETS YOU DO ALL YOUR BANKING CONVENIENTLY and ACCURATELY."
This is a Total misleading
lie. Similar
services promise to make your banking convenient and easy as well. All
of these modern "conveniences" also make it MUCH MORE LIKELY THAT YOU
WILL MAKE A BANKING ERROR. The
Banks know this. They
also know that they are not a risk when you make a simple error. The
also know that the laws have been set up to protect not the consumer, but the
bank. The
customer always pays for their error. The
bank NEVER pays for misleading the customers about the limitations and error
prone methods they sell as conveniences available to customers. If
a customer makes a mistake- it can CASCADE into a waterfall of fees, that is
impossible to stop before it's too late. Just do a Google search and see what
people are going through. Banks
make MILLIONS and TENS of MILLIONS of dollars in this way. One
check that bounces, can cause a high overdraft fee, which then causes more
overdrafts, which generate more fees, which generate more overdrafts ETC ETC ETC
ETC. Before
you can get caught up, you may have had HUNDREDS of dollars subtracted from your
bank account, and you will have to pay all of this off, and the bank will NEVER
reverse these fees. It's
one of the ways banks are racking in RECORD profits from unwary customers who
have made errors- lured into Online Banking, Auto Pay, Bill Pay. We
accept this, just like we've accepted the low quality of service we get
everywhere from corporate big business. The
name of the game for big businesses is to REDUCE COSTS, LOWER SERVICES GIVEN,
MAKE MORE MONEY and MAKE EVEN MORE MONEY, then REDUCE COSTS MORE, GIVE LESS
SERVICE and MAKE EVEN MORE MONEY. All
of the banking "services" being offered are not for the customer's
convenience- its for higher profits in the banking industry. The more automated
your banking, the more you do yourself, the less the bank has to do, and the
less people they need to have on staff, and the more they can pay their top CEOs
and top managers. You
lose, they gain. ALL
of the corporate banks are the same. Some are worse than others. But they are
all bad. Chances
are they had friendly looking marketing, stage coaches, and warm friendly faces
to fool you into thinking they are down home people. Banks
have done a great job in presenting themselves as YOUR FRIENDS. Don't
be fooled. They have one thing on their mind Making
PROFIT. THE
FAIR SOLUTION FOR YOU
We are more and more losing touch with PERSON TO PERSON individual recognition, especially when we do business with big corporate entities.
The days of dealing with an individual person when we buy and sell things we use in life are quickly disappearing with each passing day.
Those who hold on to this way of social/business interacting are being FORCED out of business-- the small stores that are run out of town and
driven out of business by Wal-Mart, who offers cheap prices.
We
are being fooled, and cutting our own throats because we are failing to value
PEOPLE and PERSONAL CARE and REAL ATTENTION.
As the economy gets worse, we have to pinch pennies. The cost of gas, utilities, and other rising costs
forces us to shop at parking lot sized merchants, because we can not afford to keep shopping at the corner grocery store.
The people who have been voluntarily elected to government only reinforce this trend-- because they are actually in favor of rising
gas and oil prices, non-economical fuel economy, etc etc--- these are their businesses. Our president,
congress people, and state elected officials are continually passing new laws-
elected officials with big advertising budgets, who lie and fool the uninformed
voter, politicians bought and sold by the pharmaceutical industry, big banking, big oil, big business.
Your dollar buys a fraction of the standard of living it did 20 years ago.
We have come to accept the way in which these hugely profitable businesses have manipulated the market and our behavior in the
marketplace. These corporations have invented and delivered services such as electronic money exchange, in which have not only become
popular with individuals and businesses, but are slowly becoming the ONLY way to do business.
We have been hypnotized into buying big cars that get crummy mileage. big houses. Big vacations flown to on big jets.
In this process of manipulating how we do business, how we buy and sell goods, we then are
trapped into accepting the terms of the corporations that handle these transactions.
Rising bank fees-- $33 if you bounce a single check, because the online
banking, and plastic checking card seduces you into using and PAYING for these convoluted services in which keeping track of your expenses
is actually LESS ACCURATE than a simple check register. Its a poor joke on the consumer. Then
compound this with banking error fees and credit card interest that jumps to
nearly 30% if you are late on one payment.
Government approved.
That's right, your neighbor and maybe you yourself voted for these guys who allow this to occur.
The consumer now assumes ALL RISK. Business has manipulated law into reducing their risk more and more, until insurance companies, banks,
gun manufacturers have no risk involved-- and yet see rising profits.
The consumer and worker gets a smaller and smaller piece of the pie- and the CEOs of major corporations give themselves
unprecedented raises.
SO--- The question is: how to reverse this trend? How to begin working
or yourself and your family, instead of being a slave to Sony, Shell, Citicorp, Wells Fargo.
We all like "things". But we need to think-- Do I really need THIS THING to be happy.
Will you WILLINGLY promise to work HOURS AND HOURS and DAYS and MONTHS for a need giant plasma TV screen? Or will you realize there is
A MORE EFFICIENT WAY TO ENJOY LIFE.
Simplicity.
1) Do business with a REAL PERSON who KNOWS YOU and CARES about
you and can actually CONTROL how your money is taken and used, as
opposed to a mindless and powerless worker bee than can only do the LAW
according to the Corporate Queen Bee.
2) Take your banking business to your local credit union-- where the rates
are better, and YOU and other members OWN THE BANK. You will get better
treatment, better fees, and better service when you really need it. At least
if you pay a penalty, it will feed the people who own the bank- YOU-
rather than an overpaid billionaire corporate bank executive
3) Take your car to the corner gas station or personal
mechanic instead of the giant corporate controlled dealer. Heck, start RIDING YOUR BIKE and see what you're traveling past and get
healthy.
What else can you think of that will put you in control of your expenses,
your green energy, your interaction with people who get your
green energy?
Think, and be happy.
