After a forty five minute drive towards the lab, you arrived at a dirt road, where you drove another five miles straight into the woods. At about 9,000 feet or so you arrived at a stone and wood gate, and either parked your car there, or in a hidden field up an unmarked, barely drivable path. Then you begin the hike up to the actual lab. This was about a half a mile up a narrow, very steep, but extraordinary beautiful dirt path. Most city folk found this a VERY hard walk, and could only go a few minutes at a time. Here is a view on the path going up. You would frequently see deer or other wild animals close by foraging in the trees, or see eagles flying above your head.
